The ICC Collection 1975-2013
10th - 29th June
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the global governing body for cricket encompassing men's, women's and youth participation. The ICC, which comprises 106 Full, Associate and Affiliate Members, is responsible for the administration of international cricket including the staging of international cricket events. It is also responsible for the global expansion of the game through the Pepsi ICC Development Programme.
Together with Getty Images Sport, the ICC is giving cricket fans the chance to relive iconic moments from ICC events from around the world with the opening of "The ICC Collection" at the Getty Images Gallery, London.
The exhibition, showcasing 50 iconic photographic images, opens on Monday 10 June and will run till Saturday 29 June and is free for the public to enter.
The collection includes a number of unusual, behind the scenes photographs of cricketers during ICC events dating back to 1975 and features legends of the game such as Clive Lloyd, Sir Vivian Richards and Sir Ian Botham as well as modern day greats such as Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne.
Many of the images highlight the evolution of cricket photography from flash-gun-and-dark-room to digital transmission from the boundary edge, but the images all portray the same variety of euphoria, excitement, pride, despair and cricketing agility.
